- Australasian Corrosion Association Prize awarded to the
three best corrosion related exhibits.
- Australasian Institute of Mining & Metallurgy Prize
for an entry that displays an understanding of NZ’s mineral
extraction industry and an awareness of mining and mineral
resources.
- Crop and Food Research prize for the best exhibit related
to flour usage.
- Fletcher Challenge Energy Taranaki prize for the best
exhibit demonstrating some aspect of energy efficiency.
- Geological Society of NZ for the two most meritorious
entries featuring some aspect of Earth Science.
- I.P.E.N.Z. (Institute of Professional Engineers) Prize
for the best exhibit illustrating the original or ingenious
application of science through engineering to improve the
quality of life.
- Kiwi Dairies Prize for the best project on milk.
- L.A. Alexander Trust Prize for the best agriculture or
horticulture exhibit.
- Mainland Products Prize for the best entry in Dairy Sciences.
- NZ Association of Optometrists Prize for the best entry
in the visual sciences.
- NZ Association of Radio Transmitters Prize for the best
entry in the radio sciences
- NZ Institute of Chemistry Prizes in Year 9 & 10 (F
3 & 4) and Year 11 – 13 (F 5-7) For the best
Chemistry exhibits.
- NZ Sports Science and Technology Prize for the best entry
in the category -"Sport Science and Technology".
- Statistics Association Prize for the best exhibit showing
statistical methods in the treatment of experimental data.
- National Institute of Water & Atmospheric Research
Prize for the best environmental project concerning air
or water.
- The Pukeiti Rhododendron Trust prizes for the best exhibits
in the natural sciences and in particular for horticulture.
- Shell Todd Oil Services prize for the best exhibit in
environmental conservation.
- Taranaki MedLab prizes for the four best projects in human
biology/health.
- Taranaki Nuchem Prize for scientific endeavour.
- Taranaki Polytechnic Prize for the best senior exhibit
which demonstrates the practical application of science
or engineering.
- Taranaki Regional Council Prize for the best project demonstrating
some aspect of environmental science.
